Incidencias en Yucatán

Visual Art, Sound & Multimedia Exhibition

Incidencias en Yucatán is a collaborative art exhibition showcasing emerging and established voices in visual arts, sound art, and multimedia. Born from the creative synergy between two artists rooted in the region, the project is led by internationally acclaimed Korean artist Miru Kim and Alfonso Garrido, founder of Tulum Art Club.

The idea was sparked when Alfonso visited a beautiful colonial property on Calle 60 in Mérida — a space soon to become Hotel Casa Escondida. Inspired by its unique charm and potential, he reached out to Miru Kim with the idea of using the venue for a one-time artistic intervention before its transformation. From that moment, the vision took shape.

Incidencias Mx exists to offer a platform for visual artists, performers, and sound artists who often lack access to traditional exhibition spaces. By encouraging collaboration and dialogue, we aim to foster a vibrant artistic community and promote the voices of local and emerging talent in Yucatán.

Through curated visits and digital storytelling, the project seeks to connect with international audiences, spotlighting the richness and urgency of contemporary artistic practices from the region.
